Founded in 1931, the Women’s Democratic Club of Franklin County (WDCFC) brings together Democrats who are committed to strengthening the Democratic Party, supporting Democratic candidates, and advancing the issues that matter most to our communities.
With the help of our members and supporters, WDCFC works to connect with voters, organize events, encourage civic participation, and help get people to the polls. We are proud to offer something unique in Franklin County—a welcoming space where Democrats from across the region can come together to network, socialize, learn, and organize around shared values and goals.
By working together, we amplify our voices, educate the public on key issues, support candidates, and make a meaningful difference locally and beyond.

The scholarship honors Esther Wagner, a longtime member of the WDCFC and a tireless advocate for civic engagement and public service. Esther has championed issues that improve the lives of others, with a particular focus on ensuring that women’s voices are represented in government and public life. A former president and secretary of WDCFC, Esther remains socially and politically active at the age of 101.
