The Cause Endures

As unfortunate as it is, we lost. Like you, I am concerned about the future of this country. We are all going to process this election in our own ways, but let me please offer my thoughts.

Franklin County Democrats held the line, and I am thankful for the work of all of our volunteers, supporters and donors.

In 2020, we delivered 22,422 votes for President Biden.

In 2024, we delivered 22,968 votes for Vice President Harris.

Franklin County Democrats, our Harris staff, and our allies from across the country knocked over 20,000 doors here.

Our margins were statistically unchanged from 4 years ago.

Here in Franklin County, we did everything that we possibly could for our ticket. Despite this, the rest of the Commonwealth did not hold.

We saw what a first Trump administration had in store for America. Millions of lost jobs. Gross mismanagement and incompetence. Reinvigorated far-right movements. Higher debt and deficits. Tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

And just like we had to do in 2016, in 2024 we must continue.

We will not give up this fight in Franklin County. Doing nothing does not help. Retreating will do nothing but embolden the worst impulses among us. We must rest and recommit.

While this is not the morning that we wanted to wake up to, we must remember that our values are worth the effort.

We will never give up.
